Despite the fog the dance team still makes it to their competition and place fourth in the nation.
The Cardinal dance team was supposed to fly to the Dance Team Union Nationals competition in Orlando, Florida on Thursday, February 15, 2018.
Due to the weather conditions the team didn’t leave until Saturday at 3 p.m. says dance team coach, Marion Castillo.
Castillo says “it was an overall great experience, the team was in great spirits, and they had great attitudes during the whole trip.”
The dance team stayed at the Gaylord resort in Osceola, Florida.
They didn’t have anytime for festivities since they got there late.
Soon as they got off the plane they had a short practice, then they had to get ready, and then off to the competition.
They only had one chance to dance since they arrived late, where as other teams had 2 chances to wow judges.
The cardinals only had performed in the second chance round.
Junior, Christian Carillo says “it’s not about what others do it’s all about how you do.”
The dance team held fundraisers to pay for the trip. They got back from Florida late so they missed their roller rink fundraiser so they rescheduled it for April 15, 2018.
Everybody but 3 people will be returning to the dance team next year.
Cardinal Dance Team will be holding tryouts for next season March 7,8,9 in the cafeteria from 3:30 pm- 5pm. See coach Castillo if you have any questions.
