Students from all around join together to celebrate a night of culture.

The annual District 218 Arts Extravaganza was hosted on April 28 from 5-9 pm. Richards, Eisenhower and Shepard collaborate each year to host an event to showcase the arts programs. The host school is rotated every year, and this year was Eisenhower’s year to present the event.

There were performances from the Eisenhower bands and show choirs from Eisenhower and Richards. There was also food presented by Richards, and art pieces from all three schools.

“This event let’s all of our schools collaborate and show off what we’ve all got,” says senior Cherith Clottey, who has participated in multiple arts during her time at Eisenhower. “It creates something for the district to share.”

The event was a success and concluded with a raffle where guests won things such as a guitar and tableware. For many students, this was the last time they would participate in the Arts Extravaganza before graduating.

“I’m really glad students get this opportunity while they are here. It’s gives them not only a chance to grow as a performer, but prepare them for their future as an artist,” says senior Amidala Soria.

To join any of Eisenhower’s art classes, you can talk to your counselor in the counseling office located in the main office.
