Gisselle Almazan
Hi my name is Gisselle Almazan and I’m a senior at Dwight D. Eisenhower. This is my first year writing for the red and white and I’m really excited, because I can’t wait to begin my career to study journalism in college. At school I’m involved in many clubs and activities such as, Leo Club, Foreign Language Club and Key Club. I’m also one of the captains for the Girls Varsity soccer team. I’m a freshman mentor at school and work at the Blue Island Park District as a Summer Camp counselor. In my free time I’m usually volunteering my time at the Blue Island Park District. I love to help train kids in soccer and being involved in my community. I also love to write music and play guitar. If I’m not reading a book I try to create some collages with anything I can find. I love spending time with my family. My passion for playing and helping others comes from my father. My father was a Cook County District 130 school board member and also coaches for the Blue Island soccer team. You can see a photo of him by the gym at Eisenhower, he played soccer of course. My dream and goal at the end of the day is to become the best person I can be and to just change someone’s lives. I want to be known for doing something amazing. I am looking forward on writing for the red and white and can’t wait to truly be apart of a great team. I’m influence by the people all around me and inspired to help change the world, one article at a time.
