The Red and White News

  • Welcome back to the 2019-20 school year
Madison VanSlette
Hello, my name is Madison and I’m a freshman. Since I am a freshman and it’s my first year in high school, it’s my first year writing for the Red and White. A little insight on what I like to do in my free time is: read, write, listen to music, play video games, watch anime, and watch K-Dramas (Korean). (There are subtitles for a reason! Use them!) Like I said, I like to write in my free time, so when I saw there was a newspaper it caught my attention. I don’t have much free time now as I’m on both the Speech team and the Swim team, but it doesn’t seem like it’s as much as it is when you enjoy what you are doing. Although it may not seem like it, my plans for after high school are to work for a degree in law. (Become a lawyer.) While doing anything there has to be something, music. I love music from Punk to Metal, all the way to K-Pop/K-Hip-Hop. (Korean) Don’t be close minded when it comes to music, you’ll surely regret it when you make a new friend who listens to a genre you refused to like for so long. Especially when that friend shows you what you have been missing out on in that music scene.
“It’s more important to be yourself and become the person you aspire to be than to let people change you.”- Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low
